A Dream Job!

My horseriding teacher asked me if I would come today for five hours and help her get Sunny, the horse I ride at my lessons, ready for a horseshow tomorrow. I was so excited she asked me. I learned so much. I unloaded their feed and filled their feed bucket. I rode her for about an hour after I got her all saddled. Then, we washed her, sprayed something on her white parts to make them whiter, and put something on her that made her shine. We had to put blue tape around her white parts on her lower legs so that they would stay clean until the show. I shaved her mane in a few places and combed her. She looks really good now! My teacher said that I might be able to ride her in a horseshow next month if I want to. I even cleaned out her stall which my parents couldn't believe I did without complaining! She also has a goat.
Some things I learned from my day:
1. A canter isn't as bouncy or scary as I thought
2. Taking care of a horse is harder than I thought (but I could still do it if I had my own)
3. It takes a whole bottle of shampoo to wash a horse (and for important shows, they use soap that costs $120/bottle)
