NEW JOB!

Ms. Sharon, my horseriding teacher, invited us to an old-fashioned wassail party at her house. While I was there, she offered me a job! Every three weeks I will go and clean out the stalls,
pick up trash, put in new hay, and groom the horses.
My first time was on Saturday, and I worked for about 1 1/2 hours and she paid me $25! It was great! What she doesn't know is that I had so much fun being with the horses that I would have worked for free! I did slip once when I was cleaning the stalls and mom didn't think I smelled very good when she picked me up! HA

Trip to York

The day after Christmas we went to see my great grandparents in York. The trip didn't seem that long on the way there and I slept on the way home. When we got there, we ate lunch. She had made yummy potato soup. Then, we went to Blue Valley, and I got some clothes and a pair of nice boots that were almost new. (everything costs 50 cents or 1 dollar). Then, we went back and played cards. It was fun. I like to be there.

Christmas!

On Christmas morning, I woke up at 4:30. I went to open my stocking and I got 28 new pencils (that is a lot of school work!) and candy and a Chiefs football ornament. My mom and dad gave me horseriding lessons for the Spring or summer and books from our favorite series (Focus on the Family: The Williamsburg Years). From Santa, I got new running shoes (I wear a men's 8 now! My mom and I are the same size--I can't wait to pass her) and basketball shoes. I also got a watch and KC Chiefs sweatshirt and a few other little things. I had a great Christmas and got some things I was really needing. Caden and I played dart tag with our neighbor, Forrest, all afternoon. It was great!

First Snow!

We woke up Sunday morning to the first snow of the year. So Sunday afternoon we played for an hour in the snow. My mom came outside to take some pictures and we hit her 10 times (see picture) with snowballs. Today, the snow is still here but will probably be gone by tomorrow.

Gingerbread Castle

Thursday (aka Thanksgiving Day) my cousins, my brother and I made a gingerbread castle. It was fun to build. We bought some toy knights and a horse and put them in the castle. When we celebrate Christmas we get to eat it! YUM.

What ? Wednesday

Today Mom and Dad went to a seminar at the Sprint Center. Tony Gonzalez was a speaker there. Here are a few things he said: one of his favorite moments as a Chiefs player was when he was at the Denver game in 08. When he got the wind knocked out of him, the crowd chanted, "Tony, Tony, Tony" and it felt like they were lifting him of the ground. He also said that to be successful, you should love what you do. If you only do as much as everyone else, you will be just like everone else and will not excel. My mom and Dad droped us off at my piano teacher's house at 6 am. We had a lot of fun there and had piano lessons because it was the day we normally took them. I got to play with Nathan and Sarah. I learned how to play some new card games.

Gary's Hat

Last night, Susan Bomar, the wife of my good friend Gary stopped by at church. Gary is my friend who went to church with us before moving to Arizona where he lived just a few weeks because of how bad his cancer was. He was very special to me because he liked the same things I liked and took the time to get to know me. I really miss him. He had wanted his wife, Susan, to give me his brand-new Stetson hat, so she brought it to me last night. It came in a really big, neat Stetson box. I will cherish it forever.

Bracelet

Well, I made it less than one day before I lost my 'rude and disrespectful' bracelet, and haven't earned it back since. However, I am doing OK so far today. Hopefully, I can keep it for longer than a day next time!!

Complaining

My parents are complaining that I complain too much. :-) We are starting this thing were we have bracelets and they remind us about complaining and rudeness. Each time we complain or talk rudely, we get a bracelet taken away and if we keep our bracelets for a week, we get a prize.

Halloween

Friday night we went trick-or-treating. I was a cowboy and my brother was Cat in the Hat. The first stop we made was my Grandma Colleen's house. She gave us some candy. I got alot of candy that night and got to see my old soccer coach. The next night I went to my friend from my soccer team's Halloween party and we had tons of fun.

Are we there yet?

This weekend, the day after Caden's birthday, we went on a 9 hour trip to Oklahoma to vist my great aunt and uncle. My uncle Herbert had a problem with birds stealing his pecans off the tree so for a few days I got to be a bird exterminator with a .22 rifle. We also went fishing but didn't catch anything. On our way back to Herbert's from church we found a turtle. They have a dog named Speck and 7 cats-- 5 of them are kittens. I like my uncle Herbert to tell stories from when he was a boy.

Caden's party

Friday evening we had Cadens 8th birthday party. Jake , Austin , Eli , Levi , Bailey , Sterling , Makayla , Erin , Maggie, Abbey , and some parents, grandparents, and mom and dad's friends all came out to celebrate Caden's birthday. My brother and I made carameled apples and cupcakes. My mom and my brother made some yummy apple cobbler. I think I had as much fun as he did. The party turned out very
well.

Pumpkin Patch!

Sunday afternoon we went to Schweizers Orchard and got apples and pumpkins with Abbey and Maison from church. My cousins Eli, Jake and Austin (we did not know that Jake and Austin were coming). We played in the hay maze and on the playground. My mom said my pumpkin needed to have a stem and this is what I found. Maison also found a good pumpkin but it was heavy. We had alot of fun.

What ? Wednesdays

Each Wednesday, I am going to blog about something I have learned this week. One of the favorite things I learned this week was how to make decimals out of fractions. I like Math, but Spelling is my favorite subject.

Friday we went to the homecoming parade in Savannah.
brother rode on his soccer team's float. I got candy for both of us.
I knew a lot of people in the parade and my friends came to the parade with us. I got a lot of candy. There were 83 floats in it. After that we went to the homecoming football game and they won.

My (very busy) saturday

Saturday I went to help my mom at the Liberty Fall Fest (she had a booth there). I did the samples. Then, we went to my cousin, Jake's, football game. He scored a touchdown and their team won. Next, we went to his house for my Grandpa and Grandma's 45th annivesary dinner. Then, we went to a wedding.

Soccer!

This year my brother Caden and I both signed up for soccer (Caden's coach is my dad). We are both the blue team but in different leagues and we have played one game already. We both played the green team and won by 2 goals.
